OUR VISION STATEMENT
ADOPTED MAY 2009
United in Christ, First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) seeks to thrive by welcoming everyone into a relationship with Christ where the unique needs of individuals and a commitment to diversity are sources of strength.
We will continue to bear witness to the teachings of Jesus Christ by:
* Sharing our enthusiasm for our life in Christ with others
* Assisting members in discovering their God given talents/gifts
* Using our individual talents/skills
* Reaching out to others far and near
* Demonstrating a passion for justice
2010:
Since adopting this Vision Statement and our Mission Statement we have:
* Received 45 persons into a new relationship with Jesus Christ
* Begun our Bus Pass Ministry with Palmetto House residents
* Begun our Saturday Hot Meal ministry with Palmetto House residents
* Begun Celebrate Recovery, a Christian 12 Step Recovery Program
for persons with all kinds of hurts, hang-ups and habits.
* Developed our Justice Team Leaders as part of our Justice Team
Ministry within our congregation as it relates to Fighting Against Injustice
Towards Harmony.
* Begun a new Read Through the Bible in One Year class that meets on
Sunday Morning.
* Watched our average worship attendance grow.
